APPLIQUE
Applique is a process where the design comprised of nylon is sewn onto the nylon background. This is the process of choice for single quantity jobs since it does not require setup preparation. However, some designs are just too detailed to use this process.For applique quotations, we require:
- The actual design in order to give accurate quotation
- Size (standard sizes listed at bottom)
- Background color and design color(s)
- Finish style such as heading and grommets for outdoor use or pole sleeve with tab for indoor/parade use
- Do you require fringing for indoor/parade use?
- If yes, what color?
- Plus any other details that are required for your job.
- Front reading correct and back reverse or two sides reading correct?
To produce a two sides reading correct the flag requires two flags produced and sewn back to back with a liner. This will double the cost of the flag, the flag will not fly as well and may not last as long due to it's weight.
SILKSCREEN
Silkscreen is the process where ink is placed on the background material. Due to screen set up charges, this process is most appropriate for jobs of large quantities such as 6 or more. The colors must be spot colors and cannot have shading or gradients. The more colors you have in your design, the more screens that are required and the more expensive it will be. Many designs with multiple colors, we recommend the digital print process listed below.
For silkscreen quotations, we require:
- Size (standard sizes listed at bottom)
- Background color and design color(s)
- Finish style such as heading and grommets for outdoor use or pole sleeve with tab for indoor/parade use
- Do you require fringing for indoor/parade use?
- If yes, what color?
- Plus any other details that are required for your job.

If you have shading or gradients, not solid colors then the digital print process is the process that is required not silkscreen.
DIGITAL PRINT
This process is great for designs with many colors, lots of details and gradients. With a digital print, the background starts out as white and all colors are dyed onto the fabric. It is used for all detailed printing that reproduces color photographs, shading and gradients.
Quantities as low as one can be produced with this process.
For digitally printed quotations, we require:
- The design
- Size (standard sizes listed at bottom)
- Finish style such as heading and grommets for outdoor use or pole sleeve with tab for indoor/parade use
- Do you require fringing for indoor/parade use?
- If yes, what color?
- Plus any other details that are required for your job.
- Front reading correct (back will be white) or two sides reading correct?
The standard is for the design to read correct on one side and reverse on the backside.
